Tesla unveiled a major update to its Model 3 electric sedan in Europe in the fall of 2023, boasting a new look and more range.
The dual-motor Long Range Model 3 advertises an EPA estimated range of 341 miles on a single charge, an upgrade from the 333-mile range of the previous long range model. Tesla is also boasting a 15-minute recharge time (up to 175 miles).
The price tag for the rear-wheel Model 3 is $38,990. The long-range Model 3 variant is priced at $45,990.
New guidance regarding EVs under the US Inflation Reduction Act means both Tesla Model 3 options are ineligible for the full $7,500 federal tax credit. The broad strokes are the same, as is much of the body, but Tesla says about 50% of the refreshed Model 3’s parts are new, making this a bit more than just a facelift.
Speaking of the face, this is where the most obvious changes to the Model 3 can be seen. The new headlights are sleeker and more streamlined, with a new LED light signature beneath. The entire front bumper has also been streamlined, ditching the lower corner fog lights and smoothing over the already small lower air intake. Along with the reshaped 18-inch Aero wheels, this should make the new Model 3 the most aerodynamic model in the lineup, with a drag coefficient of just 0.219. The reduction in drag alone is worth a boost in range of about 5%-8%, according to the automaker.
