This point was echoed by audience questions after the screening, as many referred to the lack of onscreen representation from plus-sized actors in film and television. The ones that do exist fall into the same tropes – the fat friend to the slim, attractive main character or the depressed lonely fat person who is either bullied, pitied or despised.
