Kia America announced pricing for the all-new US-spec 2023 Kia Sportage following the SUV’s market launch in Europe, Australia, and Korea. In the US, the Sportage starts from $25,990 for the base-spec FWD LX trim, and goes all the way up to $36,790 for the AWD X-Pro Prestige flagship. This means it is slightly more expensive than the mechanically-related Hyundai Tucson which ranges between $25,500 and $35,000 with the same engine.
The Kia Sportage for the US market is longer than the EU-spec model, increasing the size difference with its predecessor to 7.1-inches in length. Thus, the cabin is roomier than ever before, especially for the rear passengers, and the cargo space has a capacity of 39.6 cubic feet, which is described as best-in-class.

The Sportage is available in two different variations with the X-Line, X-Pro, and X-Pro Prestige trims benefiting from rugged bumpers with satin chrome accents and gloss-black details. Wheel sizes range from 17-inches to 19-inches depending on the trim. For example, the flagship and more adventurous X-Pro Prestige gets 17-inch matte black wheels shod in BF Goodrich A/T tires, multi-terrain drive modes, ventilated front seats, LED foglights, and more.
All variants of the Sportage come standard with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, with higher specs getting the curved digital cockpit with dual 12.3-inch screens. Eight driving aids are standard in the base-spec LX, with more sophisticated ADAS like the Smart Cruise Control and the Highway Driving Assist being optional. Other optional features include the Harman Kardon audio system, the 360-degree Surround-View Monitor with 3D view, and the Kia Connect services.

At the moment, the 2023 Kia Sportage is exclusively available with the 2.5-liter Smartstream GDI four-cylinder engine producing 187 hp. Power is sent to either the front or to all four wheels through a standard eight-speed automatic transmission with an optional Active AWD system. Kia has officially confirmed it will offer more powertrain options in the near future, including the turbocharged 1.6-liter hybrid with 226 hp (169 kW / 229 PS), and the more efficient plug-in hybrid with up to 32 miles of EV range.
The Kia Sportage is produced in West Point, Georgia, alongside the larger Telluride, Sorento, and K5. The SUV is already available for sale in Kia dealerships across the US.
