Riva Ferrari 32 Is One Of Just 40 Boats Created In Partnership With The Prancing Horse

What do you do if that Ferrari parked in a garage simply doesn’t do it for you anymore? Well, you could look for a Ferrari of a different kind, namely a boat that’s associated with the Italian carmaker.

This is a 1990 Riva Ferrari 32 and it is being auctioned off by RM Sotheby’s at its Fort Lauderdale, Florida auction running across March 25 and 26. It was brought to life through a collaboration between Riva and Ferrari and is the 28th of just 40 units produced. It is expected to sell for between $100,000 and $150,000.

The 32 in the boat’s name refers to its length and the bright Rosso Corsa paint immediately makes it stand out. It also features Scuderia Shields on the front haunches and received an engine-out service in 2015.

Speaking of the engine, it is quite special. For one, there isn’t a single engine and instead there are two Vulcano 400 V8s, each of which were rated at 390 hp. These V8s power the rear propellers through Borg Warner transmissions, helping the Riva Ferrari 32 hit a top speed of 54 knots or 62 mph (100 km/h).

The cabin of the Ferrari boat has a leather-wrapped, three-spoke steering wheel and is boarded by black gauges with yellow lettering and dials. Found below is a sleeping area for two and a stereo system with a Clarion AM/FM/CD player.

As far as boats go, particularly ones from the 1990s, few are as aggressive or make quite the same statement as the Riva Ferrari 32. Just look at the supercar-inspired spoiler sitting above the cabin. Is there much need for it? Maybe not. Does it look cool? Absolutely.
