RAM 1500 Rendered, BMW 4-Series Driven, And Flying Tesla: Your Morning Brief

Good morning and welcome to our daily digest of automotive news from around the globe, starting with…

Which Car Model Or Brand Has The Strongest Fan Base?

We can sometimes get a little tribal in our allegiances as car enthusiasts. But what car brand out there has the most substantial fan base, whether it be via life-long supporters or the ability to convert hoards of new fans to their ways. BMW, Land Rover, and Tesla are surely up there; what others have we missed?

In addition to showing us some teaser photos last month, a new video presented by Frank Weber, a member of the BMW board of management, shows us around the new i7 electric luxury sedan. The film has been deliberately shot concealing many of the details and features of the new car, as it’s readied for a full reveal next month.

Li Auto L9 Is A Chinese PHEV With Premium Features, 124-Mile EV Range

Li Auto has revealed photos and information about the upcoming L9 plug-in hybrid SUV. The dimensions are similar to the BMW X7, and it sports similar styling to the brand’s smaller “One.” The six-seater features heating and massage functions for all passengers, adaptive air suspension, multiple screens, a digital instrument cluster integrated into the steering wheel, and LiDAR capable of level four autonomy.

2024 Ram 1500 EV: Design, Performance And Everything Else We Know So Far About The Electric Truck

RAM may be coming late to the electric pick-up party. By the time the new electrified RAM hits the streets, consumers will have sampled offerings from both Ford and GM. Whether that extra lead time will translate into a better product remains to be seen, but these speculative illustrations penned by CarScoops’ artist Josh Byrnes show just what an electric RAM 1500 could look like.

Driven: 2022 BMW 420i Gran Coupe Has Style And Suave

We got behind the wheel of the new BMW 4-Series Gran Coupe, to find out if it could be forgiven for those massive grilles. Being a four-door version of a two-door version of a four-door car makes its existence ponderous, to say the least, but it manages to feel noticeably different from the 3-Series sedan. The result is a refined, and likable car — if you can look past those looks.

We know there’s a new Mustang on the way, but what will it look like? That’s a question that TheSketchMonkey attempts to answer in his latest video as he creates a speculative rendering of Ford’s next-gen pony car. The spy shots we’ve seen indicate that the next Mustang may look to take some bulk out, with a sportier design imagined with slim headlights and a hexagonal grille at the front.

Tesla Driver Stupidly Aims For The Stars With Unbelievably Reckless Jump In Los Angeles

In one of the most bizarre (and stupid) acts of wanton car-nage we’ve seen recently, someone decided it was a good idea to jump a Tesla Model S through the streets of LA. Somehow no one was injured (including a cat that was inside the vehicle), but unsurprisingly the hefty vehicle lost control once it reached terra firma, crashing through some trash cans and into a Subaru Forester.

Ferrari Scores 1-2 At Formula One Season Opener

Charles Leclerc won the season-opening Bahrain Grand Prix, followed by his teammate Carlos Sainz in second. Reigning world champion Max Verstappen had looked set to secure second place before a last-minute power unit failure struck. Reb Bull’s luck went from bad to worse, with the second car of Sergio Perez packing up on the last lap too. After the double retirement from Red Bull, Lewis Hamilton took third place, despite both Mercedes cars looking off the pace for the entire weekend.
