How Is This Dealer Already Selling A ‘Used’ Koenigsegg Gemera?

Customer deliveries of the 2023 Koenigsegg Gemera have yet to start and already, the official McLaren and Koenigsegg dealership in Charlotte, North Carolina is looking to sell one.

As far as we can tell, production of the ‘Mega-GT’ has not begun and last year, Christian Koenigsegg revealed deliveries would not start until 2023. With this in mind and as the listing states this car is VIN #001, we suspect this is the pre-production prototype that the Swedish automaker toured around the world to promote the car.

Very few details have been given about this particular Gemera by the dealership and it’s not even clear if it is operational. We have reached out to the dealer requesting more information and while we wait for a response, it’s worth reminding ourselves what makes the Gemera special.

Found beneath the sleek exterior, bathed in a lovely shade of grey, is a 2.0-liter twin-turbocharged three-cylinder Freevalve engine that pumps out 600 hp and 442 lb-ft (600 Nm) of torque. This engine is supplemented by three electric motors that add 1,100 hp, allowing the car to churn out a combined 1,700 hp and 2,581 lb-ft (3,500 Nm) of torque. It promises to be the quickest four-seater on the planet.

The cabin of this Gemera is bathed in yellow leather and Alcantara across the seats, door panels, steering wheel, and headliner while there are also some black leather components and a host of parts finished in exposed carbon fiber. The car also has a small digital instrument cluster that moves with the steering wheel, a large central infotainment screen, and two additional screens up front for the digital wing mirrors.

U.S. pricing for the 2023 Koenigsegg Gemera starts at $1.7 million and just 300 examples are bound for the production line.
