Go For An In-Depth Tour Of Koenigsegg’s Swedish HQ

Koenigsegg may be best known for producing some of the fastest, rarest, and most powerful production cars on earth but there is a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes to make these vehicles a reality. The following video details some of the things that has made Koenigsegg the company it is.

Presented by YouTuber Mr JWW and Christian von Koenigsegg, the video provides us with a comprehensive tour of the Swedish car manufacturer’s production facility.

The first few minutes of the tour takes place in Christian’s office space before we are provided with a look at the company’s engine dyno room. The dyno is capable of running over 2,000 hp and 1,475 lb-ft (2,000 Nm) of torque and at the time, was putting the 5.1-liter twin-turbocharged V8 of the Jesko through its paces. Christian also reveals the automaker is developing an advanced chassis dyno that can run up to 3,000 hp, provides torque vectoring, and can spin the wheels at over 540 km/h (335 mph).

Interestingly, Christian also reveals that Koenigsegg is testing its new Vulcanol fuel on the dyno. First detailed last year, Vulcanol is created by collecting the CO2 from semi-active volcanoes and converting it into methanol.

The first running prototype of the Gemera is also showcased as is a prototype of the Jesko.

While watching the video, it’s hard not to be staggered by the amount of innovation that is going on at Koenigsegg, from things like its Freevalve engine to its electric motors and transmissions. Christian adds that the carmaker is working with a number of other companies so some of its technologies can be used in vehicles more accessible to the average consumer.
