More Than 173,500 People Applied To Be Dodge’s Chief Donut Maker

Dodge announced that it has selected the 10 finalists for the position of Chief Donut Maker. The automaker says that it received more than 173,500 applications for the position in all, so whittling the list down was tough.

“With over 173,500 applications to review, it wasn’t easy, but we’ve selected our top 10 candidates for the Dodge brand’s chief donut maker position,” said Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis. “Now the rubber will literally hit the road, as we take our finalists to Radford Racing School to begin the four-week competition that will ultimately determine our final two candidates, with our chief donut maker to be named on HEMI Day, April 26.”

The ten finalists come from all over the country, including Brooklyn, New York; Birmingham, Alabama; Burley, Idaho; Highland Lakes, New Jersey; La Vergne, Tenessee; Monterey, California; Pineville, North Carolina; Taylorsville, Utah; and two from Las Vegas, Nevada.

The job is really more of a publicity stunt designed to advertise the brand’s muscle cars but does come with a one-year contract worth $150,000. The CDM will also get to hang out with celebrities and racing professionals as a Dodge brand ambassador.

To apply, those interested were asked to submit a two-minute video detailing why they were perfect for the position and why they embody the spirit of the Dodge Brothers. The 10 finalists’ video submissions can be seen at DodgeGarage.com.

They will now compete against one another to show off their skills and vie for the position. In a series of filmed events hosted by Bill Goldberg, the group will be whittled down from 10 to five to two and, finally, to the one Chief Donut Maker.

Videos will be published on Dodge’s social media channels and the winning contestant will be given their position on April 26, 2022, Hemi Day.
