One-Off Maserati Grecale Has Orange Paint Inspired By Mars

Fresh off the Maserati Grecale’s recent global debut, the Italian car manufacturer has presented a very special example that showcases the full scope of its Fuoriserie Programme.

This Grecale is dubbed the ‘Mission from Mars’ and takes inspiration from the red planet. For starters, it is painted in Galactic Orange which features a base layer that looks similar to molten metal which is then covered in frosted orange-red paint. Maserati says the paint is inspired by mineral dust.

Maserati has then equipped the Grecale Mission from Mars with unique Vortex wheels that are supposed to recall the displacement of air caused by start-up and traveling at speed. The SUV then sits on a set of tires “made from a special blend dedicated to the planet Mars,” or so says the car manufacturer.

Among the final exterior touches made to the special Grecale include a large Trident logo on the rear pillars with a glitch effect and special script on the side skirts.

A number of alterations have also been made to the Grecale’s interior. For example, the software of the infotainment screen and digital instrument cluster have been altered with space-inspired animations. There is also a projection of various key star constellations on the panoramic glass roof as well as unique seats inspired by the spacesuits worn by astronauts and complete with red Tridents on the headrests. Rounding out the modifications is a special combination of leather and Alcantara surfaces. The small digital clock in the center of the dashboard also has unique start-up graphics.

Maserati notes that the Grecale Mission from Mars is a strict one-off but shoppers that do order a Grecale will have a lot of choices when it comes to customizing their SUV and making it stand out.
