The Lamborghini Urus is getting a series of updates this year as part of the upcoming facelift, but next to the regular Urus EVO we are also expecting a new even hotter variant. The latter has been caught undisguised by our spy photographers during winter testing, incorporating styling cues similar to the recently revealed Huracan Tecnica supercar.
Surprisingly, the test car is not camouflaged, featuring a simple matte-black wrap that’s not doing enough to hide all of the new design details. The slightly different intakes on the front bumper are now connected with the LED headlights, in a similar manner to the Huracan Tecnica. There is also a set of bonnet vents similar to those found on earlier Urus prototypes.

Looking closer, the front bumper is the only change compared to the previous matte-black Urus that was spied last January. Actually, the sportier front end was also fitted on Urus prototypes from as early as one year ago, although back then it was well-hidden under a proper camouflage wrap.
Moving over towards the back, the redesigned bumper gets new side vents following the shape of the rear fenders, a larger diffuser, and some new fake vents and angular details above it. Lamborghini retained the quad exhaust pipes which are 100 percent legit, just like in the current Urus.
The Urus EVO will likely receive a power bump, but this hotter variant will be even more powerful. An uprated version of the twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 which produces 641 hp (478 kW / 650 PS) in the current model could easily make more than 700 hp. While less powerful than the plug-in hybrid Urus which is rumored to have a combined output of 808 hp (602 kW / 819 PS), the go-even-faster Urus could benefit from less weight and a new chassis setup. More extensive use of carbon fiber in combination with stronger brakes and a more focused suspension could make this the fastest Urus on both road and track.
The soon-to-be-unveiled Ferrari Purosangue is clearly aiming for the top spot among high-riding models, so it’s only fitting for Lamborghini to ready its response. According to the latest reports, the facelifted Lamborghini Urus is set to debut this August at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, hopefully answering all of our questions. As for the plug-in hybrid Urus, this will follow in 2023 as the first of many new electrified Lamborghini models.
