The sixth-generation Nissan Altima was introduced at the 2018 New York Auto Show, so it comes as little surprise the company is working on a facelift for their popular sedan.
Spied undergoing testing in the United States, the model will be given a light refreshening that mainly focuses on the front end. While the camouflage hides a number of details, we can see a more aggressive front bumper with larger intakes that feature black surrounds. The sedan has also been equipped with a new grille that has slender horizontal bars and a less pronounced V-shape.
The rest of the exterior appears to carryover, aside from a more pronounced rear spoiler that may be exclusive to the SR trim. That being said, it’s interesting to note the US-spec model doesn’t adopt the updated taillights found on the Chinese-spec variant that was snapped earlier this month.

The styling updates continue in the cabin as the 2023 Altima has an all-new infotainment system. It has a significantly larger display than the current 8-inch system as well as smaller bezels and a more rectangular design. Those aren’t the only changes as there’s new switchgear beneath the display.
Since this appears to be a relatively minor facelift, engine options will presumably carryover from the current model. If that’s the case, we can expect to find a familiar 2.5-liter four-cylinder that produces up to 188 hp (140 kW / 191 PS) and 180 lb-ft (244 Nm) of torque. It should be joined by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 236 hp (176 kW / 239 PS) and 267 lb-ft (362 Nm) of torque.
Timing for the facelifted Altima remains unclear, but we’re expecting it to debut later this year.
