While there are some signs that the used car market may be starting to cool off, rarer cars seem to be continuing to ride the wave. Interestingly enough though, one very rare and very interesting Saab 9-5 sedan with low mileage might end up being the rare exception to the rule. With just a couple of hours remaining it’s sitting at a paltry $15,000.
This is a 2011 Saab 9-5 and that’s special just because it was the very last year of production before Saab folded and was ultimately sold off. Just before that, the 9-5 was the first new car released under the ownership of Dutch automaker Spyker though it was developed and mostly completed under GM ownership. And yes, that’s the same Spyker that made supercars before it too folded.

Still, there’s more than meets the eye here. This isn’t just any Saab 9-5. This is the top-of-the-line Turbo6 powered by a 300 hp 2.8-liter V6 with the optional all-wheel-drive system that uses a Haldex unit employing a clutch pack with a standard rear electronic limited-slip differential. That’s a special package even if this wasn’t the final year of production.
Inside this Saab, you’ll find the Technology package which comes with adaptive cruise control, self-leveling headlights, and a semi-digital gauge cluster with graphics that could’ve come out of a fighter jet. The interior itself looks fantastic overall. The seats are in great shape and have multiple adjustments up front, the rears are clean and nicely bolstered, and there’s a panoramic sunroof too.
The owner is even including the window sticker which shows that the original MSRP was $54,735. That’s a far cry from the $15,000 bid that it’s sitting at right now. What’s wild is that this car has just 11,400 miles (about 18,350 km) on the odometer. It has had no major accidents in its history either.
Sure, it might not be the easiest vehicle to source parts for but in many ways, this is a time capsule of a brand that could’ve been something greater. The auction ends today, Friday, May 20th, at about 4 pm EST so if you’re in the market for something rare and daily drivable, this could be a steal as long as you’re cool with searching for parts.
