You Can Drive The 2023 Nissan Z This Month… In Rocket League

Psyonix and Nissan today announced that, from May 26 until June 7, Rocket League players will be able to buy the brand new, 2023 Nissan Z as an in-game vehicle.

As part of the bundle, players who purchase the vehicle will get a Nissan Z Performance, which is a faithful representation of the Performance trim in real life, wheels, engine audio, a Nissan Z-themed player banner, and a Nissan x FaZe Clan decal.

All in, the package will cost players 1,100 credits in the Item Shop and is part of a broader gaming strategy from Nissan. Like other automakers before it, the Japanese automaker will, in addition to licensing its vehicle to the game, sponsor a variety of Rocket League Esports events.

Among the events sponsored by the brand, there will be the upcoming Rocket League Championship Series North American Regional event, which will be called the “Nissan Classic” and will run from May 27-29.

On May 26, meanwhile, there will be a Nissan Crew Battles livestream event starting at 10 a.m. PDT on Twitch. The event will have a prize pool of $25,000 and the broadcast will pit teams of three pros against one another in a cascading 3v3, 2v2, 1v1 format known as a Crew Battle. The battles will be hosted by First Touch hosts Roll Dizz and Dazerin as well as JohnnyBoi.

The actual Nissan Z is set to arrive in dealer showrooms this summer with a starting price of $39,990. The Nissan Z Performance, like the one featured in the game, starts at $$49,990. Either way, you get your choice of a six-speed manual or a nine-speed automatic transmission and both are powered by a 3.0-liter V6 that makes 400 hp (298 kW/405 PS).

“We’re excited for the passionate fans of Rocket League to experience the thrill of the all-new Nissan Z,” said Allyson Witherspoon, vice president Nissan U.S. “This is also a great moment to highlight our existing collaboration with FaZe Clan as we continue to look for new and authentic ways to be present in the ever-expanding Esports world.”
