And This Is How A Baby Ford Mustang Mach-E Is Born

The latest entry into the rich library of Ford Mustang indiscretions has arrived. This time, a black Mustang has managed to drive off a raised parking lot and to land squarely on top of a poor, unsuspecting Tesla.

Although the context is unclear from the photographs, photos posted to Reddit by u/mattmobb (claiming to be the Tesla’s owner) do, indeed, say a thousand words. With the front wheels on the roof of the Tesla Model 3 and its back wheels on a retaining wall, the Mustang is stuck in mid-air, hanging there the way a brick shouldn’t, to quote Douglas Adams.

Although there is no indication as to exactly what happened in the post, it doesn’t take Sherlock Holmesian powers of deduction to conclude that the Mustang’s driver drove off the higher lot and into the Tesla.

Based on the way it’s hanging there, though, it’s likely that the Ford didn’t just creep off the edge; it must have hit the curb at some speed to land where it did. The extent of the damage is also not made entirely clear by the post, but a photo does show the glass along the roof smashed in, as you might expect from such an accident. Although I wouldn’t want to have been in the backseat of the car, its glass roof did about as well as glass could be expected to under the circumstance, which is nice.

The Tesla’s ability to support the Mustang that er… mounted it prompted commenter u/vkapadia to ask if this is “how a baby Mach-E is created?” Well, obviously not, but that was a good one…
