How to schedule a Zoom meeting

Zoom is the most widely used video conferencing service in the world. But there are many people who still don’t know how to schedule a Zoom meeting. You can schedule a meeting on the Zoom Web site, their desktop app, or your Android or iOS mobile device. Then you can invite people to join with a link to the meeting. How to schedule a Zoom meeting and send invites on the website

When you log into your Zoom account on the web, the Schedule link is at the upper right corner of the screen.

Click on Schedule and you will be brought to a page where you can specify many details of the meeting. In addition to giving the meeting a date and time, you can also give it a name and description that will be sent with each invitation you send for the meeting.

It’s important to note on this page that unless you are paying for an upper-tier Zoom service plan, meeting lengths are limited to 40 minutes. Also on this page, you can make the Zoom meeting a recurring event, set up a waiting room to control entry to the meeting, turn video on or off for the meeting, choose to record the meeting on your local device, and restrict certain regions from entering the meeting.

Set up your meeting the way you want, then click Save to put the meeting on your schedule.

Now to invite some people to your new meeting. When you have your meeting saved, click on Meetings in the left-hand sidebar. This will let you invite people to the meeting you just created and any others that have been created by showing you all your meetings in one place.

On the meeting’s page, there will be a link on the right side of the screen reading Copy Invitation. Click on the link to copy an invitation message with all the necessary information to your clipboard.

You can now paste the invitation into an e-mail, a text message, a tweet, or any other messaging service. Enjoy your meeting!

How to schedule a Zoom meeting and send invites on the desktop app

When you open the Zoom desktop app, the Schedule button is one of the four large buttons on the home screen. Click on Schedule to start the process.

The scheduling menu will come up, with choices for date, time, and duration; control over video; security options; and choices for recording your meeting in your device’s calendar program.

The Advanced Options dropdown contains several important options, including control over when and how invitees can enter the meeting. You can also choose to record the meeting here, and block off parts of the world from entry, if desired.

Set your options to suit your needs and click the blue Save button to schedule your meeting. Now we will want to send some invites. Conveniently, the invitation and a button to copy it to your clipboard comes up automatically when your meeting saves.

Click on the Copy to Clipboard button. You can now paste an invitation to your meeting, including the link and password, into any e-mail, text, or tweet. Have a great meeting.

How to schedule a Zoom meeting and send invites on the mobile app

On an Android or iOS device, the Schedule button is at the top of the page when you open the app. Tap on the Schedule button to open a menu of meeting options.

The options include the date and time of the meeting and whether to make it a recurring meeting or not. There are also security options including requiring a password to enter.

The Meeting Options drop-down will reveal more choices, including control over video. There is also the option to allow someone else to start the meeting without you.

Once you have all the details set properly, tap on Done at the top right of the screen. Your meeting is scheduled. Automatically, a menu will pop up offering to let you add invitees to the meeting via the messaging services that are installed on your device. The invitation will automatically paste into whichever service you select. Just add the proper contact information in the To: field and send, and you are on your way to a productive meeting.

Yes. Just go to your Meetings menu, and select the meeting you want to start. You will see a blue Start button under the meeting’s name.

Each Basic user and Licensed user on a Pro account is limited to hosting only one meeting at a time. On Business, Education, and Enterprise accounts, you can host up to two meetings at the same time.

On a Basic plan, meetings are limited to 40 minutes. Upgrading to a Pro plan will allow your meetings to go over their scheduled time.
