Chevrolet says that it has polled owners of its electric vehicles and found that the thing they miss the most about driving an internal combustion vehicle is the snacks from the required trips to the gas station.
The automaker, therefore, turned to Wendell Holland, a TV home designer, to transform the garage of one lucky owner, Denver’s Pamela Talley, into the snack bar in order to make sure that she doesn’t miss out on her guilty pleasures.
“I’ve seen firsthand how homeowners are evolving their space to fit the EV lifestyle, so collaborating with Chevy on this garage transformation was a seamless fit,” said Holland. “To create the ultimate garage space for Pamela, we incorporated inspiration from beloved gas station snacks and transformed the space into a modern oasis for EV living.”

Calling it the “ultimate EV garage,” the automaker says it polled its social media followers to learn what their favorite gas station snacks are. That led directly to Talley’s garage being filled with treats like beef jerky, chips, candy, a drink fridge, a hot dog roller, and even a frozen drink machine.
“One of the best features of living with an EV is charging, or ‘refueling,’ at home,” said Steve Majoros, vice president of Chevrolet Marketing. “We want to provide Chevy customers the seamless ability to enjoy charging at home as we bring more electric vehicles to market. This garage makeover is one example of the creative ways EV drivers can enjoy what they miss by skipping the gas station.”
Talley isn’t the only who might receive help from the company in order to make their garage even better. Chevrolet says that it will cover the installation of a Level 2 charging outlet for eligible customers who purchase or lease a 2022 or 2023 Bolt EV or Bolt EUV. The company has also invested nearly $750 million in public and private charging infrastructure through Ultium Charge 360.
