Disney Plus Relaunches on PS5, With Support for 4K HDR Playback – CNET

If you’ve been lamenting the quality of the 1080p stream of your favorite Disney Plus Star Wars and Marvel shows on your PS5, your time to celebrate has come. You can now download the native Disney Plus app on Sony’s next-gen PlayStation and stream content in 4K HDR, the streaming service said Tuesday.

“A key part of our global expansion strategy is to meet consumers wherever they are, which is why we’re excited to enhance both Disney+ and Star+ for PlayStation 5 users,” Jerrell Jimerson, EVP of Product & Design at Disney Streaming, said in a release. “The ability to support 4K HDR video streaming on the platform will also improve the viewing experience for fans.”

Disney Plus is just now catching up to rival streaming services like Netflix and HBO Max, which already offer 4K HDR streaming on PS5 consoles.

To stream Disney Plus in 4K HDR quality on your PS5, you’ll need a paid subscription to Disney Plus and an internet connection that can provide you with speeds of at least 25-35 Mbps
