Stellantis today shared a handful of sketches previewing the concept cars that will be presented by Mopar at the 2022 Special Equipment Manufacturer Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas.
Although Mopar released three images, it’s not actually clear if they’re showing two or three vehicles. The first is, clearly, a Jeep product. The study appears to be an off-road-focused Wrangler because of those big all-terrain tires and the dearth of doors.
With a fancy two-tone paint job that features a very Halloween-y combination of orange and black, it is the caption “SURGE,” with the emphasis on the blue E, that provides us with our best hint of what’s really going on here.

The caption, in combination with the badge in front of the door that appears to say “EV,” suggests that this concept will be electric. Of course, we know that Jeep is, in some way, at the forefront of Stellantis’ electric push. With the Recon and the Avenger, the company is working on multiple EVs. Given Jeep’s appeal to the aftermarket, it makes sense that Mopar is coming in hot with its own products to give customers hints as to what modifications will be available to them in the future.
The next two photos, on the other hand, both focus on Ram products. Both also feature multi-tone paint jobs, with one clearly featuring a highlighter yellow playing against black and white tones. The other also appears to feature black and white, which play against a yellowish hue, though it might be orange. Unfortunately, given the color tones of each photo, they’re a bit like that viral dress, and I can’t say with certainty if they’re the same truck or not.
Regardless, the sketch in which we see a rear three-quarter shot of the truck shows a rather significant roofbox, which wraps around the bedsides. Rugged tires, meanwhile, suggest that this will be a capable concept, and may suggest that this concept is focused on overlanding.
The brighter-yellow concept, on the other hand, has a bulging hood with a snarling hood scoop in which three lights can be seen. These look somewhat like the three amber lights required for some commercial trucks, though, of course, those are normally put on a vehicle’s roof.
In addition to these vehicles, Mopar will showcase hundreds of factory-backed performance parts at the 2022 SEMA Show, which will run from November 1-4 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
