New Jersey Bill Wants To Get Rid Of Most In-Car Subscriptions

Despite many in the industry thinking (or hoping) that car subscriptions will take off as the next big thing, it seems the thought is upsetting many. Now a pair of legislators in New Jersey has introduced a bill that will prohibit automakers from offering in-car subscription services to customers in the state. If it passes, it means that dealers and manufacturers won’t be able to offer subscriptions to hardware components that are already installed in the car.

The latest competitor to the rapidly growing electric pick-up segment is the 2024 GMC Sierra EV Denali Edition 1. The design looks premium, as is the interior, with little in common with the Chevrolet Silverado EV. It’s powered by a dual-motor all-wheel drive system which is slated to produce 754 hp (562 kW / 764 PS) and up to 785 lb-ft (1,063 Nm) of torque. Buyers can also expect towing and payload capacities of up to 9,500 lbs (4,309 kg) and 1,300 lbs (590 kg). There’s 350 kW DC fast charging as an added bonus while the range will be approximately 400 miles (644 km). There will also be cheaper mainstream variants offered in the near future too, which is handy as reservations for the Edition 1 have already closed.

As depicted by our speculative illustration, a compact Tesla EV will likely take the form of a hatchback and could hit the market for around $30,000, or possibly less, and still turn a profit.

In case you didn’t know, Carvana’s license to sell cars in Michigan was canceled with the state claiming that employees had committed fraudulent acts. However, Carvana hasn’t given up yet, saying that it maintains that the Secretary of State’s recent actions are illegal, and reiterating its belief that this issue “amounts to technical paperwork.”

Over 300 U.S. Customers Put Down Deposits On 2024 Rolls-Royce Spectre EV Before Even Seeing It

The first-ever all-electric car from Rolls Royce has already received more than 300 orders in the United States. However, although the company’s CEO, Torsten Muller-Otvos claims that the “order book looks strong,” the Spectre likely won’t become a sales leader just yet. “In terms of proportion (of sales), I would say Cullinan, our great SUV is one column,” said Muller-Otvos. “The second column is the Ghost, our great limousine. And then comes Spectre as the third column,” said Muller-Otvos.
