Ram And Chris Stapleton Reveal Retro-Inspired Traveller Truck With Hood Ornament And Upscale Interior

Country music superstar Chris Stapleton has joined forces with the Ram design team to create the one-off Traveller pickup.

Based on the Ram 2500 HD, the Traveller features a retro-inspired design that blends styling cues from the 1970s and 1980s with the modern appearance of Ram pickups today.

In particular, the paint job is inspired by the 1979 Ram Palomino as it features a throwback color scheme of Linen Cream, Radar Red, Bison Brown and Cashmere. The truck has also been equipped with retro-inspired 18-inch Turbo Fin wheels, which feature a two-tone finish as well as a heavy dose of nostalgia.

The wheels aren’t the only nod to the 1980’s as the Traveller badges have a modernized font inspired by the one from that era. That brings us to the coolest touch, which is a Ram head hood ornament that recalls those used on classic models such as the Ramcharger.

The special touches continue in the cabin as there’s custom Bison Brown upholstery that contrasts with buffalo plaid flannel on the headrests. The latter is a nod to the jacket Stapleton wore on the cover of his debut album, Traveller.

The upscale interior also sports Walnut Burl wood trim, speaker grilles inspired by guitar amps, and an inlaid version of Stapleton’s signature. Other highlights include a custom front bench, a special key fob, and a “Chris Stapleton x Ram” badge.

The truck was created to celebrate Ram’s long-running partnership with Stapleton as well as an exhibit, known as Chris Stapleton: Since 1978, at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. It also comes days before the release of Stapleton’s cover of Al Green’s “I’m a Ram” on November 11th.
