Someone Paid $130,000 For A 50-Mile 2022 Bronco Raptor That Was Worth $80,000 New

The second-hand market for the new Ford Bronco remains a fascinating thing, as a one-owner, Shadow Black 2022 Ford Bronco with just 50 miles (80 km) on the odometer has shown, by selling for $130,000 on Bring a Trailer.

Although we know that a brand-new 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor starts at $68,500 from the factory, we also know that this example specifically cost $78,185 (plus $1,595 destination fee) when it left the dealer, thanks to the Monroney sticker that has been included with the photos of the SUV.

The options include the Lux and Interior Carbon Fiber packages, which give the Bronco Raptor adaptive cruise control, a heated steering wheel, wireless charging and other amenities. The 17-inch beadlock capable wheels and the leather trim seats also help add to the price of the vehicle.

Really, though, what people are paying for is the 3.0-liter V6 EcoBoost engine that makes 418 hp (312 kW / 424 PS) and 440 lb-ft (596 Nm) of torque. In addition to the reinforced chassis, the bigger axles, the upgraded transfer case, and the off-road suspension with Fox dampers, the Bronco is a serious performer, especially when the going gets tough.

How willing someone will be to really run this SUV ragged after spending Porsche 911 Carrera 4S money on it is a question that this poor writer cannot answer. It is, however, hardly the first Ford Bronco Raptor to wade these high-priced waters.

As recently as October 28, someone was selling a Cyber Orange Metallic Ford Bronco Raptor on eBay. That vehicle was being sold with just 37 miles (60 km) on it, though, and the seller was asking for $125,000.

I suppose it is a testament to Ford’s success with the high-performance off-roader that it is commanding these remarkable prices, even if seeing owners flipping them after basically driving them home is a little disappointing.
