Production of the FF 91 is contingent on obtaining $150+ million in funding

Following a fire, an executive shake-up, and yet another production delay, Faraday Future is hoping to reverse a string of failures.
During a Global Investor Business Update, the company said they now intend to start production in late March and have the first FF 91 Futurist roll off the assembly line the following month. They then hope to begin deliveries towards the end of April.
However, there’s no guarantee this will happen as everything is “subject to the timely availability of $150 to $170 (€140-159) million of additional funding and timely stockholder approval of an authorized share increase.” If that wasn’t enough self-doubt, Faraday Future stated “No assurance can be provided that the company’s ongoing financing discussions with existing and potential new FF investors will result in binding commitments in a timely manner or at all.” So in effect, Faraday Future still has no clue when the FF 91 will actually go into production.
Despite the uncertainty, the company said testing and validation continues. They added the vehicle has benefited from “significant upgrades” to 26 major systems and components. Half of these updates were made to the powertrain, battery, charging, chassis, and interior while the other half focused on computing, sensing, communication, and user interaction. Faraday Future didn’t go into many specifics but released a slide indicating the updates include redesigned center consoles.
Interestingly, the presentation started with a video saying “before disrupting an industry, we take inspiration from it.” It then showed the Lamborghini Urus, the Rolls-Royce Cullinan, and the latest Mercedes-Maybach S-Class.

This is interesting to note as the FF 91 is so far behind schedule that it debuted before those vehicles were introduced, making the inspiration claims rather dubious. The Cullinan and S-Class were brought up later in the presentation as a slide highlighted the FF 91’s pricing and performance advantages.
