Just a solitary example of the BMW 3.0 CSL is heading to Spain and the automaker’s local department has revealed that it sell the car in a private auction.

With just 50 units of the 3.0 CSL being produced, Spain has been allocated just one car, number 41. Bidding for the auction will start at an eye-watering €605,000 (~$648,000) before taxes. That equates to around €800,000 (~$857,000) including VAT and registration tax.

Fortunately, BMW Spain won’t pocket all the money generated by the sale. Indeed, any money raised in excess of the car’s MSRP will be donated to charity.

Those interested in picking up the keys to the limited-edition BMW will need to register through the SoulAuto platform. Bidders must also be verified customers of the BMW M brand in a bid to ensure that the car ends up in the hands of a real enthusiast and not simply someone that will flip it.

As reported by Periodiselomotor, the auction kicked off on February 14 and will run until February 28.

BMW took off the covers to the 3.0 CSL in late November 2022. It serves as the swansong to BMW M’s 50th anniversary celebrations and is based on the M4. The design of the car is heavily inspired by the 2015 BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage Concept and includes a host of bespoke components, including new aluminum kidney grilles, carbon fiber reinforced plastic parts, and both a rear wing and roof-mounted spoiler inspired by the original E9 3.0 CSL ‘Batmobile.’

Powering the modern-day 3.0 CSL is a tuned version of the carmaker’s 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged inline-six, now delivering 553 hp and 406 lb-ft (550 Nm) of torque. Coupled exclusively to this engine is a six-speed manual transmission driving the rear wheels.
