Many automakers have revealed their Vision Gran Turismo concepts over the years, but it is now the turn of an Italian design house to do the same. The Italdesign Exeneo Vision GT features a low-slung silhouette, a hybrid mid-mounted V10 powertrain, and two different modes with one of them allowing it to be driven off the beaten track.

The Italdesign Exeneo was exclusively developed for the popular video game series, giving plenty of creative freedom to the design team. The concept comes in “Street Mode” and “Off-Road Mode” guise, with the latter featuring increased ground clearance and beefier tires making it compatible with off-road courses.

Besides the different wheels and suspension heights, both variants share the same design. The aerodynamic silhouette is characterized by a long bonnet, pronounced fenders, and a very sleek greenhouse. At the front, the low-mounted LED headlights are combined with large intakes and an aggressive two-story splitter.

On the profile, the futuristic alloy wheels look massive for the size of the vehicle, as is the case with the side windows that create a capsule effect. The side intakes lead to the toned-up rear shoulders and the rather slim tail with dual openings, a diffuser, and a windscreen-less rear deck.

Inside, there is a “crystal sphere cockpit developed around the driver” with a digital interface. Italdesign didn’t announce the detailed specifications of the concept, but revealed that the Exeneo was envisioned with a “powerful V10 mid-engine and electric motor hybrid system“.

Italdesign’s New Exeneo Is An Off-Road Supercar Created For Gran Turismo Players

The 2013 Italdesign Parcour Concept came with a Lamborghini-sourced V10, while the similar 2013 Audi Nanuk Quattro Concept traded it for a diesel-powered V10. Also, the fully electric 2019 GFG Style Kangaroo created after Giorgeto and Fabrizio Giugaro left Italdesign, could be considered a follow-up to the aforementioned concepts. While none of those ended up in production, they all served as spiritual predecessors to the Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato that debuted last year.

The Italdesign Exeneo is already available to drive in the Gran Turismo 7 as part of the latest free update. Needless to say, as with the other Vision GT concepts, this is purely a design study not destined for production.
