Two separate 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 models were recently auctioned off on Bring a Trailer and Cars & Bids respectively but neither of them reached their reserve, despite bidding far exceeding their MSRPs.

The first of the duo was listed through Bring a Trailer and was a 70th Anniversary Convertible variant, finished in White Pearl Metallic. It was being sold through a dealership which meant that the warranty would be retained, unlike new Z06 models that are sold privately where the warranty cannot be transferred. It had an MSRP of $146,340 and bidding reached as high as $222,000, meaning the dealer could have pocketed a $75,660 profit had they not placed the reserve so high.

Making this ‘Vette all the more appealing is the fact that the interior was beautifully specced to mimic the exterior, thanks to the Ceramic White leather finish across many interior surfaces, including the power-adjustable, heated, and ventilated GT2 bucket seats.

Then there’s the second Z06 that was listed on Cars & Bids and also failed to reach its reserve. It was a Coupe finished in black and was listed with 300 miles (482 km) under its belt. A look at the window sticker reveals an MSRP of $131,255 and because the car was being flipped by a private owner, Corvette Blogger notes that the warranty wouldn’t have been transferred.

Bidding for the mid-engined supercar topped out at $178,569, also falling short of the reserve. Key trimmings of the car included the custom leather-wrapped interior package, suede microfiber-wrapped upper interior package, a Torch Red ‘Corvette’ emblem at the rear, black exhaust tips, and the available GT2 seats.

There’s no denying that the 2023 Corvette Z06 is one of the best supercars currently on sale. It is also one of the most in-demand. However, these auction results show that there is a limit to how much people are willing to spend for one.
