Hennessey’s supercharged C8 Chevrolet Corvette pumps out 708 hp and 638 lb-ft of torque

Obviously, a C8-generation Chevrolet Corvette Stingray that has been supercharged by Hennessey is going to be significantly quicker than a standard model. But just how much quicker?
The Texas tuner offers the C8 Corvette Stingray with its H700 package that consists of a supercharger, an intercooler, and a new catback exhaust. It is also equipped with an engine tune and rolls on a set of 19-inch front and 20-inch rear wheels offered in brushed aluminum, satin black, and graphite finishes. It is good for 708 hp and 638 lb-ft (865 Nm) of torque, serious figures for what is a very serious performance car.
By comparison, the 6.2-liter naturally-aspirated V8 of a run-of-the-mill Chevy Corvette Stingray delivers 495 hp and 470 lb-ft (637 Nm) with the available performance exhaust.
Hennessey first lines up the pair for a drag race from a standing start. Both cars get off the line well but the supercharged model immediately establishes a sizeable lead over the standard car. Impressively, the 708 hp car didn’t suffer any traction issues off the line.
A rolling race is then held between the pair. Just like the first race, the Hennessey model storms ahead and takes an easy victory. In the final race, the H700 driver gave the driver of the standard model a head start but was still able to easily close the gap and cross the finish line first.

It would be very interesting to see how Hennessey’s tuned Corvette Stingray performs against the new Z06. While the Z06 has slightly less power with 670 hp and 460 lb-ft (623 Nm), the instantaneous response of its high-revving, 5.5-liter naturally-aspirated V8 could help it keep pace with Hennessey’s creation.
