Zenvo is making a new model that it announced today will be called the Aurora. Limited to just 100 examples, the new Zenvo hypercar will be offered in two distinct versions.

These will include the Aurora Agil (Agile), which will offer a track-focused experience, while the Tur (Tour) model will be a little more subdued, providing a more GT-like experience, with a limited top speed of more than 248 mph (400 km/h).

Regardless of trim, the Aurora is based on a modular carbon monocoque chassis, with carbon subframes. The car will also be powered by an all-new 6.0-liter, twin-turbo V12 engine that is hooked up to a gearbox of Zenvo’s own design, featuring an integrated hybrid drive. The automaker says that this bespoke V12 will spearhead the drivetrain lineup for its future models for the next 10 years.

“It is a remarkable honor to direct our growing team, as we undertake the most exciting phase in the history of the company,” said Jens Svedrup, chairman of the Zenvo board. “This car has come from the passion that runs deep in the Zenvo family and very much aligns with our ethos of ‘smiles per mile’. 2023 is going to be a truly exciting year.”

If the name Zenvo sounds only mildly familiar to you, the sight of its most recent hypercar, the TSR-S, might jog your memory. Or, more specifically, seeing the car’s wild aero might help you recognize the brand because the huge rear wing was attached to an actuator on either side that gave it the pretty unique ability to tilt from side to side.

Zenvo may be up to its old tricks again, as, on the Aurora Agil, it says it will install an aggressive aero package “designed for maximum capability on the racetrack.” Unfortunately, the teaser reveals no more about the design.

Ultimately, Zenvo says it will focus more on giving drivers an engaging driving experience than on headline numbers. With a twin-turbo hybrid V12, though, those numbers may be impressive anyway, and reports suggest that the car will make between 1,500 and 1,800 hp (1,118-1,342 kW/1,521-1,825 PS).

We’ll find out for sure in August when the car makes its debut. Zenvo says that it is homologating the car for global markets and that more than 30 of the 100 cars are already reserved.
