Famed Italian motorcycle manufacturer Ducati ended 2022 with record operating profit and more than €1 billion in revenue.

More specifically, Ducati ended 2022 with €1.089 billion ($1.16 billion) in revenue, marking a significant 24 per cent increase over the €878 million ($935 million) reported in 2021. Even more encouraging is the fact that operating profit soared by 77 per cent compared to 2021, jumping to €109 million ($116 million), a new record.

These record figures come on the back of strong performances both on and off the racetrack for Ducati. Last year, it managed to deliver a total of 61,562 motorcycles, the first time it has ever passed the 60,000-unit mark. Ducati also claimed the MotoGP and World Superbike titles in 2022.

Ducati Delivered A Record 61,592 Motorcycles Last Year, Posted More Than $1 Billion In Revenue

“For the first time in our history, we passed the 60,000-bikes mark and we overtook 1 billion euros in revenue,” Ducati chief executive Claudio Domenicali said. “This establishes 2022 as the best year ever for Ducati in several aspects, starting from the great sales and financial performance to the successes in MotoGP and WorldSBK. We are on a positive trend that in the last years has seen Ducati grow and establish itself as an increasingly solid company. As a brand that is an expression of Made in Italy, innovation, design and technology, we keep our focus on delivering exciting experiences on and off motorcycles to passionate Ducatisti all over the world.”

Ducati was operating 821 dealerships around the world at the end of 2022, another record for the brand, having recently entered new markets including Brunei, Ecuador, El Salvador, and Mongolia.

This year is shaping up to be another big one for the brand. It has presented eight new models, including the new Multistrada V4 Rally, the new Diavel V4, and the second-generation Scrambler.

“I am glad that for the second year in a row, we are able to announce a record financial performance and a growth in the profitability level for Ducati,” added Ducati chief financial officer Henning Jens.
