Ford will be revealing its next EV in less than 24 hours, which means that it still has time to tease it once more before the world sees it. To get people excited about the new crossover, it showed it to its employees and filmed only their reactions.

The vehicle garnered exclamations of “Whoa!” “Nice!” and “When can I buy this?” One employee in a suit, meanwhile, said that he “was expecting evolution, but this is definitively revolution.”

Indeed, the vehicle is certain to be a change as compared to other Fords because it isn’t based on a platform designed by the Blue Oval. Instead, the vehicle is based on Volkswagen‘s MEB platform.

Part of a content sharing deal between the brands, the platform allows Ford Europe to start producing EVs for Europe, where it has promised to go all-electric by 2030, as soon as possible.

While details of the vehicle have not yet been shared, as found in the VW ID. 4, the MEB platform has up to 77 kWh of batteries and a dual motor system that can provide up to 262 hp (195 kW/265 PS), and go as many as 321 miles (517 km), according to WLTP standard.

So far, the vehicle’s design has only been hinted at, but it looks to be quite boxy. A shot of the front of the vehicle, shared on Twitter, showed a large badge on a flat piece of sheet metal located where the grille would be in an internal combustion vehicle.

One of two vehicles Ford is basing on VW’s MEB platform, the brand has revealed that it will be producing a “medium-size” model (which this is expected to be), and a second “Sport Crossover” which is expected to be revealed at a later date.

The new “reinvented Ford” model will be unveiled at 8:00 a.m. eastern time, tomorrow, March 21, 2023. You can watch the livestream of the unveiling below when it goes live.
