A special variant of the Chevrolet Camaro has just been launched in Japan and it is bound to turn heads once local deliveries commence.

The special version of the Camaro is dubbed the Vivid Orange Edition and fittingly, the entire body is painted in Vivid Orange, one of the most over-the-top colors offered for the muscle car. Contrasting the paintwork is a silver racing stripe running along the hood, roof, and decklid of the Chevy.

Chevrolet also has equipped the car with a set of five-spoke silver wheels. Found within the cabin are Recaro performance bucket seats with a jet black finish. The car manufacturer also partnered with artist Number-D to commission a special piece of art that commemorates the launch of the model.

Japan’s Chevy Camaro Vivid Orange Edition Is Big On Color And V8 Muscle

Elsewhere, the Camaro Vivid Orange Edition remains identical to all other Camaro SS models. As such, it continues to be powered by a 6.2-liter naturally-aspirated LT1 V8 engine that pumps out 455 hp and 455 lb-ft (617 Nm) of torque. Coupled to this engine is an 8-speed automatic transmission sending power to the rear wheels.

While we don’t yet know how many examples of the Camaro Vivid Orange Edition Chevrolet intends to build, we do know that it starts at 8,930,000 yen or the equivalent of roughly $66,200. To put that into perspective, a standard Camaro SS is available from 8,100,000 yen (~$60,000).

Order books for the car opened on May 8 and the first deliveries are expected to kick off in the middle of June.

The release of this model comes eight months after the Chevrolet Camaro Rapid Blue Edition was introduced in Japan. That model is based on the LT RS trim and caped at just 20 units. Given that the Rapid Blue Edition was sold exclusively with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, it was considerably cheaper than the Vivid Orange Edition, starting at 6,600,000 yen (~$48,900).
