MINI unveiled the exterior design of the 2025 Cooper Electric last month and now we’re getting a revealing look inside.

While most of the dashboard is covered, we can see a new steering wheel and a ‘cluster-less’ cabin. Instead of a traditional digital instrument cluster, MINI has moved vehicle information to the top of the new infotainment system.

The latter is bound to provoke strong reactions as it’s like someone threw a clock on top of the dash and called it a day. While it’s far from discreet, it appears to be broken up into three separate sections with the top third featuring a speedometer, a range indicator, and other important information. The center of the display is focused on infotainment, while the lower third has climate controls as well as shortcuts to the home, phone, and navigation screens.

This is a significant change and the inclusion of climate settings in the infotainment system has resulted in the elimination of a number of physical controls. However, we can see a minimalist shifter as well as “Power” and “Experiences” knobs.

MINI briefly touched on a number of details yesterday as they said the “visually reduced interior” features a center OLED display that measures 9.4 inches (240 mm) in diameter. The company also confirmed there will be two different steering wheels, Vibrant Silver accents, and new seats with integrated armrests.

That isn’t the only thing the company has revealed as the automaker has previously confirmed the Cooper E will have a 40.7 kWh battery and an output of 181 hp (135 kW / 184 PS). The Cooper SE will sport a larger 54.2 kWh battery and a more powerful electric motor developing 215 hp (160 kW / 218 PS). This should enable the models to travel between 186 and 249 miles (300 and 400 km) on a single charge.
