American cars aren’t necessarily well-known for any particular performance metric aside from straight-line speed. Despite that, there’s another important factor that’s often overlooked: reliability. Today, we’re asking you to tell us what the most reliable American car ever is.

We’ve got a few suggestions for you to consider starting with our lead image. The XJ generation of the Jeep Cherokee is well-known for its robust chassis, classic boxy styling, and nearly unkillable drivetrain. Truly though, just about any Jeep with the brand’s 4.0-liter inline-six engine is highly regarded as a reliable vehicle. The Ford F-Series, the Dodge RAM, or the Chevrolet Silverado could be easy choices here.
