Porsche has a treat for those who will watch its anniversary livestream event on June 8 this year. Among the festivities, the automaker will show a concept, previewing the sportscar of the future.

Unfortunately, there isn’t much information available about the upcoming debut, other than it “will offer a look forward to its vision of the sportscar of the future”. The word vision hints that this will be a concept car rather than a production model. The fact it is described as a sportscar could hint at the future of the iconic 911 which remains the core product of Porsche. Moreover, different versions of the 911 appear in the single photo accompanying the announcement. There’s also a chance that they could preview the upcoming electric Boxster/Cayman twins that are scheduled to launch in production form in 2025, but in any case we’ll have to wait for the event to find out.

The 1948 Porsche 356 No.1

The one-hour-long event is called “75 Years of Porsche Sports Cars” and will be broadcasted in German and English. The June 8 date marks 75 years after the Porsche 356 No.1 Roadster received its “general operating permit” back in 1948. The one-off featured an aluminum body based on a steel lattice tube frame. It came fitted with a VW-sourced rear-mounted 1,131cc flat-four engine, modified to produce 35 hp (26 kW / 35 PS).

This will probably be the peak of celebrations for Porsche’s 75th anniversary, including “a spectacular presentation of music, lights, and choreography”. The presentation will be divided into five acts, namely Heritage, Zeitgeist, Performance, Pioneering Spirit, and Dreams, with the concept reveal likely happening in the last one.

The livestream will start at 9:40 pm CEST on June 8 so make sure you set a reminder. The event will be followed by the “Driven by Dreams. 75 years of Porsche Sports Cars” exhibition, which will open to the public on June 9 at the Porsche Museum.
