Some Bentley Bentaygas Have Second-Row Seats That Could Go Flying

The Bentley Bentayga may be one of the world’s most luxurious and well-built SUVs but not even that is enough to prevent it from being hit with a new recall in the U.S. While the recall is relatively small as far as recalls go, it will still be an inconvenience for the fortunate few who are wealthy enough to own one.

Bentley has revealed that the recall impacts Bentayga models from the 2022 and 2023 model years that were built between February 20, 2022, and November 7, 2022. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), notes that certain Bentaygas have second-row seats that may not have been installed correctly and locked on all seat rails.

If one of the seat rails is not correctly locked, it’s possible that it could move in the event of a crash, compromising occupant safety. Bentley says that those who own a Bentayga with the issue may notice some small movement of the second-row seats if one seat rail is incorrectly locked.

A total of 1,008 examples of the Bentayga are involved in the recall. The car manufacturer is not aware of any claims, accidents, or injuries related to the issue.

Bentley will inform dealerships of the recall on June 19, 2023, while owners will be informed from June 26. Owners will be asked to take their Bentayga to a dealership where the second-row rail positions will be checked and re-set. No parts will need replacing.

This is not the first time Bentley had an issue with the Bentayga. It was most recently hit with a recall in October 2022 when it was discovered that 3,000 units sold in the U.S. had a software bug in the infotainment system where a white screen would be displayed when reverse was selected.
