A 60-year old Florida man is in jail after he reportedly pointed a gun at the head of a woman for entering his driveway. Police arrested the man after he willingly showed officers his own surveillance video confirming the series of events. He’s now charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill.

That man is Terry Vetsch, of Palm Coast, Florida. At some point on Saturday afternoon, he spotted someone turning around in his driveway via his security camera system. Believing it to be a neighbor whom he’d had arguments with in the past, Vetsch approached the vehicle.

Despite the fact that the car had already vacated his property, he walked up to it and slapped the back window. He then yells at the driver to keep their vehicle off of his property. A woman, who is the driver’s friend, walks toward Vetsch arguing with him about his behavior.

While many might have felt embarrassed by the misidentification and juvenile actions that followed it, Vetsch doubles down. Before the woman can get to his property, he pulls out a Taurus 9mm handgun, pulls back the hammer, and points it at her head. That’s evidently what Vetsch himself admitted to police, reports the Daytona Beach News-Journal.

Not only did he admit to that but it was his own video evidence that police reviewed in the moments that led to his arrest. Police confirmed that in a statement on Facebook saying “With Vetsch’s permission, Deputy Munoz reviewed the surveillance video of the incident. It showed the victim following Vetsch toward his property while arguing, but they had not trespassed when Vetsch pointed the gun at their head.”

Vetsch is currently out of the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility on a bond of $50,000. It’s certainly hot at this time of the year in Florida but it’s no excuse to act like this. Now that Vetsch is out of jail he must submit all of his firearms and ammunition to police within 24 hours.
