2024 Nissan Z Nismo Spotted With A More Aggressive Face

A new prototype of the much anticipated Nissan Z Nismo was spotted testing in Arizona, revealing a new design for the front bumper as we get closer to its official debut.

The entire bodywork of the Nismo-branded Nissan Z is covered by camouflage, but the wrap is not as thick as in earlier prototypes allowing us a better view of the model’s details. At the front, the bumper appears to be different than in older Nismo prototype sightings, featuring a new lower intake/grille which is flanked by horizontal inlets. The sportscar also benefits from deeper side skirts and a sportier rear bumper with vertical reflectors.

The blacked-out nine-spoke alloy wheels wrapped in Dunlop Sport Maxx tires are the same as the ones in the current GT-R Nismo, with a piece of tape covering the Nismo badging. The same wheels were fitted in all of the camouflaged prototypes of the Z Nismo to date. Still, it is not clear if the final production model will wear these, or introduce a new design.

The photos were shared on Facebook by Larry Wawrzyniak, who spotted the prototype in Oro Valley, Arizona, near the automaker’s testing center. They were captured on June 9, which explains the camouflage on the facelifted 2024 Nissan Sentra, since the official debut of the updated sedan followed on June 13.

Nissan has remained tight-lipped about the Nismo variant of the Z, withholding any official details. However, we’ve heard that the new model could feature a tuned version of the twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 engine, delivering an impressive output of up to 500 hp (373 kW / 507 PS). If confirmed, the Nismo variant would outshine the standard Nissan Z by a significant 100 hp (75 kW / 101 PS). In addition to the power boost, chassis enhancements such as a more responsive suspension configuration and upgraded brakes are expected to accompany the performance upgrade.

We don’t have a date for the unveiling of the Nissan Z Nismo, but we wouldn’t be surprised if it appeared on our screens sometime in the coming months.
