Cadillac will take the covers off the all-electric Escalade IQ in New York, on August 9, and will then build it in Detroit

The Escalade is going electric, thanks to the addition of the IQ suffix, and Cadillac announced today that we’ll see what the EV looks like on August 9, when it is officially unveiled.
In the meantime, a short video and a photo reveal that the front-end will share similar lighting design as Cadillac’s other IQ vehicles, the Celestiq and the Lyriq. The Escalade IQ retains its internal combustion counterpart’s imperious stature.
Cadillac also confirmed today that the all-electric SUV will be produced at its Factory ZERO Detroit-Hammtramck Assembly Center. The renovated plant is at the center of GM’s electric push, and will join other EVs there such as the GMC Hummer.

Although Cadillac says that the Escalade IQ will be its “first-ever all-electric full-size SUV,” it has revealed little else about the model. However, it’s almost certain that it will be based on GM’s much touted Ultium platform.
It is expected that given the Escalade’s size, and its positioning as a halo model, it will be based on the same specific underpinnings as the Chevrolet Silverado and the GMC Hummer. As we know, the Hummer is capable of delivering up to 1,000 hp (746 kW/1,014 PS), though the company hasn’t yet revealed any powertrain details.

The Escalade IQ is likely to be a tech showpiece, and spy photos have hinted that it may borrow the dash-width infotainment screen that was first seen in the uber-luxurious Celestiq. That may mean that its display is even larger than the standard Escalade’s.
We’ll find out for sure when Cadillac fully unveils the new 2025 Escalade IQ on August 9 at an event that is set to be held in New York.
