The Citroen My Ami Buggy is undeniably cool. A mini electric off-roader with no doors and adorable design, it was always destined to be popular. But customers responded to it better than even the automaker expected, and all 800 examples were sold less than 10 hours after orders opened.

Citroen started offering the My Ami Buggy at 11 a.m. CEST on Tuesday, June 20, and before the day was done, no more were available to purchase online. Previously only available in France, 2023 was the first year that the automaker made the buggy available to buyers in other markets.

Whereas its entire allocation of 50 examples was sold in less than 17-and-a-half minutes last year, Belgian customers were even more excited about the vehicle this year. All 65 examples of the micro-EV were spoken for just nine minutes after orders opened.

Citroen My Ami Buggy EV Sold Out In Just 10 Hours

Meanwhile, the 430 examples of the My Ami Buggy offered to French customers in 2023 were spoken for in just two hours. The numbers peaked at a whopping 300 sales per hour in that time, proving that customers are really into the little EV.

The single-most excited customer (or at least the most adept at online shopping) was from Spain, though. One person managed to order themselves a new Citroen My Ami Buggy in just 1 minute and 10 seconds.

In all, Citroen offered 800 examples of the vehicle for sale online this year. They were available to customers in France, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Portugal, the UK, Luxembourg, and Greece. Another 200 are being built, but they will be sold this summer in Turkey, Morocco, and in French overseas departments and territories.

Initially designed as a concept car, fans were so enamored of the all-electric My Ami Buggy that Citroen decided to put it into production. Limited to a top speed of 28 mph (45 km/h), its doors are removed in favor of steel hoops, and it gets rugged steelies, roof frames, and a matte paint finish.

Deliveries of the new My Ami Buggy are set to begin in September and prices range from €7,790 to €10,450 ($8,560 to $11,483 USD at current exchange rates).
