TruckHouse and American Expedition Vehicles (AEV) have joined forces to unveil a new off-road camper called the BCR.

The model is based on AEV’s Prospector XL, which itself is built on the Ram 3500. It features a host of upgrades including a steel front bumper, Highmark fender flares, and 17-inch wheels wrapped in 40-inch tires. The truck also has a 3-inch DualSport RT suspension system, while auxiliary lights and a 20,000 lbs (9,072 kg) winch are optional upgrades.

Speaking of options, customers can choose between regular and crew cab configurations. They can also opt for Cummins or Hemi power.

The truck is only part of the equation as the BCR features living quarters that reside in a “single-piece carbon fiber shell crafted using the vacuum infusion process.” It’s connected to the chassis via a “first of its kind carbon fiber reinforced torsion free mounting system.”

The camper is designed to provide unparalleled levels of luxury and livability, and it’s notable for featuring “HiPR foils” that act as air curtains. They’re located at the front of the camper and “reduce the naturally occurring high pressure in front of the cabover by redirecting and controlling drag induced vortices down the side of the camper.”

The companies didn’t release interior pictures, but said the BCR will have an open floor plan and a standing height of 6′ 6″ (1,981 mm). The camper can also accommodate four adults thanks to a cabover king bed and a U-shaped dinette that transforms into a full bed.

Other highlights include ventilation fans, StarLink compatibility, and a “robust” battery bank that powers the various systems. Buyers will also find a galley that includes an induction cooktop, a convection oven/microwave, a sink, and a two-drawer refrigerator freezer.

An assortment of options will be available including air conditioning, heated floors, a 32” LED TV, and a pass-through to the truck’s cab. Customers will also find a choice of three toilet systems including cassette, dry flush, and composting.

The BCR is currently available for pre-order with a $10,000 refundable deposit. There’s no word on how much the model will cost, but deliveries are slated to begin in the spring of 2024.
