When Suzuki unveiled the GSX1300R at Intermot in Germany in 1998, it could have hardly known how big of a deal it would become. Now, 25 years later, the company has sold nearly 300,000 examples of the bike, which is better known as the Hayabusa.

To celebrate the impact that the bike has had on the motorcycle market since sales started in 1999 – not to mention the small car engine swap industry – Suzuki has unveiled a special edition version of the Hayabusa for the 2024 model year.

The body comes painted in a special combination of Glass Blaze Orange and Glass Sparkle Black that Suzuki says celebrates one of the most popular color combinations for the second-generation bike. A special V-shaped red graphic and black Hayabusa Kanji logo also adorn the bodywork.

In addition, it comes with distinctive gloss black cowling trim, the brake rotor carriers and drive chain adjusters have a gold-anodized finish, and the single-seat cowling is included as standard equipment.

To really honor the bike’s age, it also comes with a special 25th-anniversary plaque on the fuel tank, placed right between the raised “Suzuki” lettering. Farther down, the mufflers are each marked with the same 25th-anniversary logo.

As with other models, the 2024 Hayabusa features a body inspired by the peregrine falcon, advanced electronics with ride-by-wire technology to control the mighty 1,340cc four-cylinder, double-overhead cam engine, and much more.

“The Hayabusa series has been a flagship model representing Suzuki, and has fans all over the world. We would like to express our deepest gratitude that this model is able to celebrate its 25th anniversary,” said President Toshihiro Suzuki. “I have personally test ridden the prototype of the current third generation model, and I am proud to say that we, the Suzuki team, can present to you the best model to date. The Hayabusa will never stop its evolution. We ask for your continued love and support.”

Prices for the 2024 Suzuki Hayabusa 25th anniversary edition will be announced at a later date.
