The insane Porsche Cayman GT4 RS is now available with an upgrade package from Manthey and as we’ve come to expect, it helps to boost the sports car’s on-track performance. As a matter of fact, a GT4 RS equipped with the new Manthey kit has blitzed the Nurburgring Nordschleife in just 7:03.121, a whopping 6.179 seconds quicker than the standard car and only four seconds slower than the 918 Spyder.

In boosting the performance of the GT4 RS, Manthey didn’t go down the easy route of increasing power and torque from the high-revving, 4.0-liter naturally-aspirated six-cylinder. Instead. It has focused on the car’s aerodynamics and suspension.

Alterations start at the front end where there is a larger front splitter and two small canards on either side of the bumper. Hidden from sight is a new carbon fiber underbody that also helps to increase downforce over the front axle. Manthey has also developed a new rear wing for the GT4 RS that is 3.4 inches wider and features much more pronounced endplates.

Manthey’s Porsche Cayman GT4 RS Kit Slashes Nurbugring Time By 6.1 Seconds

This new wing offers four different adjustable positions and given that it delivers more downforce than the standard wing, Manthey has had to reinforce the engine cover with carbon fiber. As with various other Porsche upgrade packages from the racing outfit, the GT4 RS sports aerodiscs on the rear wheels made from lightweight carbon fiber to reduce turbulence. Manthey says that with the new rear wing in its most aggressive setting, total downforce increases from 196 lbs (88.9 kg) to 372 lbs (168.7 kg) at 124 mph (200 km/h).

The suspension of the car has also been overhauled with new inverted coilovers. The spring struts offer four different levels of adjustment while the rebound and compression can also be adjusted easily. The spring rates are 20% greater up front and Manthey has also installed steel brake lines and new brake pads. Completing the upgrades is an available carbon fiber attachment for the rear wing and carbon fiber wheel arch vents at the front axle.
