In January, Porsche unveiled its Vision 357, one of the sleeker concepts we’ve seen it present over the past couple of years. On the eve of this weekend’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, the automaker has just unveiled the follow-up to that car, the Porsche Vision 357 Speedster.

Much like the first concept that it follows, the 357 Vision Speedster acts as a homage to the 356 and celebrates the 30th anniversary of the Goodwood Festival of Speed. After its UK debut, it will be displayed in the U.S. at September’s Rennsport Reunion and while it’s not destined for production, it’s bound to get Porsche enthusiasts excited.

Visually, the concept shares many traits with the hardtop concept from January but the presence of a low-slung windshield makes it appear even sleeker. It is painted in a combination of Marble Grey and Grivelo Grey Metallic while some contrasting elements are painted in Miami Blue, including the front tow strap, rear tow hook, and the large ‘75’ graphics.

A handful of other small accents catch the eye. For example, there are small unicorn graphics in front of the rear wheels and cameras instead of traditional wing mirrors. The headlights and taillights are also unique as they are hidden behind mesh incorporated directly into the bodywork. The rear also features a vertical grille design that doesn’t only look cool but also hides the third brake light.

Porsche has also equipped the concept with a set of 20-inch magnesium wheels complete with carbon fiber hubcaps and center locks. These wheels have taken design inspiration from the wheels used by the original 356 A and 356 B.

The interior is very driver-focused and has been designed as a single-seater with a carbon fiber reinforced bucket seat integrated into the monocoque. Porsche has then fitted Miami Blue seat belts, an instrument cluster with a transparent surface, and various controls finished in Miami Blue. Carbon fiber also adorns the dashboard.

“The Porsche Vision 357 is a nod to the first Porsche model line, Ferry Porsche’s dream sports car,” Porsche vice president of style, Michael Mauer said. “And since the 356 has cemented itself into the collective brand memory as both a convertible and a coupé, the same logic applies to the concept car: there can only be two. The Porsche Vision 357 Speedster embodies the essence of the brand. Driving pleasure and driving dynamics combined with an extremely pure form. As with the Mission X that we presented just a few weeks ago, this model demonstrates that even with fresh design genes, the Porsche DNA shines through.”
