Hennessey Performance is back at it again with its latest creation, the H850, a highly-strung thoroughbred version of the 2024 Mustang Dark Horse. As its name might suggest, it packs 850 ponies (633 kW) under the bonnet. It’s far more than just a supercharged stallion too as it comes with supporting modifications and a full warranty.

Ford’s all-new S650 Mustang Dark Horse rolls off of the factory floor with a 500-hp (372 kW) fourth-generation 5.0-liter Coyote V8. The buyer can specify either a six-speed manual transmission from Tremec or Ford’s own 10-speed automatic. In either configuration, the buyer ends up with big Brembo brakes. That’s just the foundation of the H850.

Hennessey goes to work by adding the aforementioned supercharger along with a high-flow intake system, better fuel injectors, and an upgraded fuel pump. Those physical changes are then tuned through the use of HPE Engine Management software. The results are 850 hp and 650 lb-ft (880 Nm)of torque.

“Our supercharged Mustang builds have continually been customer favorites over the years, and Ford’s improved S650 platform will prove to be its most capable. Without question, our supercharged 850 horsepower Dark Horse model will be one of the most exciting and powerful muscle cars on the road — sure to turn heads with its distinctive supercharger wail and exhaust note,” says founder and CEO John Hennessey.

Turn heads this Mustang should do just fine as it also features a number of notable exterior changes. That includes forged aluminum wheels, a carbon fiber rear spoiler, carbon fiber side skirts, and a carbon fiber front splitter.

As of this writing, Hennessey hasn’t announced pricing but has confirmed that its normal warranty policy will remain a part of the package. That includes three years or 36,000 miles of limited warranty coverage. Production begins in the fourth quarter of this year.
