There are a lot of restomods out there, but most improve upon sports cars and other highly focused toys. What if you’re an enthusiast with a passion for performance, but you also have kids? Or a lot of friends?

Alfaholics, the company behind the gorgeous, sonorous, lust-worthy GTA-R, has you back with the Giulia Super R 270, a four-seat sedan that has been given all of the love and attention of its other builds, but in a package that is more commodious.

This was a rather natural move for Alfaholics, since the Alfa Romeo Giulia and the GTA are based on the same platform. That means that all of the GTA-R’s performance parts more or less fit onto the Giulia Super R 270.

The Alfaholics Giulia Super R 270 Is A GTA-R For Enthusiasts With Kids

Although the badge at the back reads 1.3, the Alfaholics version is powered by an all-aluminum 2.3-liter, four-cylinder engine that runs on throttle bodies and a Motec ECU. All in, it produces 240 hp (179 kW/243 PS) at 7,000 rpm, which is more than enough, since the car weighs less than 1,984 lbs (900 kg), thanks to a carbon fiber hood and other upgrades.

Those other mods include titanium suspension parts that were borrowed from the GTA-R. Not everything is a carryover part, though. Since the interior is different, it is treated differently. Made to look classic, it features era-appropriate seats, while modern touches, like the inductive phone charger, are hidden to help maintain the vibe.

The large steering wheel is also kept from the original car, and gives the Giulia Super R 270 a more classical feel than the GTA-R with its smaller racing wheel. It all combines to make a car that’s small enough not to be intimidating, modern enough to be convenient, and classic enough to still feel fun.

“I can’t really think of a road, a journey, a situation where this car wouldn’t make me happy,” says Hagerty’s Henry Catchpole in a recent video. Although it’s not laser focused on track work, it remains a joy to drive no matter where you are.
