2023 Dodge Charger And Challenger Mopar Editions Pack Blue Accents And 485 HP

Dodge might have introduced all of the Last Call Chargers and Challengers, but it appears the models are now having a curtain call as the company has introduced new Mopar special editions.

Dubbed the Mopar ‘23 Challenger and Mopar ‘23 Charger, the special editions are based on the R/T Scat Pack Widebody and feature a Pitch Black Clear Coat exterior with matte black stripes that are trimmed in Mopar Blue accents.

They’re joined by a Mopar-branded grille, blue brake calipers, and a carbon fiber rear spoiler. Other highlights include Mopar valve stem caps and 20-inch forged aluminum wheels that feature a Carbon Black finish and are wrapped in Pirelli P Zero tires.

Dodge didn’t release interior pictures, but the cabin sports a serialized badge, carbon fiber trim, and a suede headliner. The models also come equipped with the Alpine Audio Group as well as Nappa leather and Alcantara front seats with heating and ventilation. Other niceties include a heated steering wheel, a power tilt/telescoping steering column, bright pedals, and a “premium stitched dashboard.” The special editions also boast the Mopar Interior Appearance Group, which adds bright door sill plates, premium floor mats, and a trunk mat.

Both cars are powered by a 6.4-liter HEMI V8 pumping out 485 hp (362 kW / 492 PS) and 475 lb-ft (644 Nm) of torque. A six-speed manual comes standard on the Challenger, but an eight-speed automatic is available. The latter gearbox unsurprisingly comes standard on the Charger.

On the topic of performance, the cars have an SRT-tuned competition suspension with three-mode adaptive damping. They’re joined by a Brembo braking system that has six-piston calipers up front as well as four-piston calipers out back.

Production will be limited to 220 units each with 200 destined for America and 20 set to remain in Canada. As a result, there will be a total of 440 Mopar ’23 special editions.

The special edition package costs $3,995 and this means the Mopar ‘23 Challenger should start at $57,255 before destination and the gas guzzler tax. Likewise, the Mopar ‘23 Charger should begin at $60,320. Regardless of the final numbers, deliveries are slated to kick off in October and buyers will receive an owner’s kit that includes a “personalized metal certificate of authenticity with [a] serialized vehicle-build number and a special rendering of the vehicle by the Mopar design team.”
