Cadillac is getting ready to quadruple its electric SUV lineup in North America and spy photographers have snapped all three of the new EVs on test

The Lyriq is currently Cadillac’s only electric SUV, but things won’t stay that way for long. The automaker is preparing to swell its lineup with the addition of three more models, and our spy photographers have caught them all out on test close to GM’s Milford proving ground.
The biggest of the three is the Escalade IQ that Cadillac formally announced earlier this year, and which will make its debut just a few days from now on August 9. The brand’s flagship E-SUV looks huge out on the road and can be seen towering over an unsuspecting third-generation Toyota RAV4 in traffic in one of the images.

Cadillac’s engineers have been careful to keep the IQ bagged-up to prevent us from getting a look at its finer styling details, but in terms of proportions, it looks similar to the current Escalade, while the front end design will feature an illuminated grille and blend cues from the ICE Escalade and Cadillac’s EVs, the Lyriq and Celestiq. We can already see vertical light units poking through the disguise and the huge wheels look strikingly similar to the ones seen on that $300k flagship electric sedan.
Next in our Cadillac scoop haul is an EV that the automaker has yet to officially acknowledge. A three-row crossover-style SUV designed to fit above the Lyriq, and act as an EV replacement for the XT6, the as-yet-unnamed vehicle is smaller and more athletic than the Escalade IQ, and while these images don’t reveal much about the interior, we know from previous sightings that it will serve up something along the lines of the 33-inch 9K curved display found in the updated 2024 Cadillac XT4.
The secret three-row SUV was also spotted next to the roughly XT4-sized Optiq, a two-row SUV that will take up a position below the Lyriq. Of the three EVs nabbed by our spy photographers, it’s the one we know most about because it was revealed on the website of China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Published specs and photos confirmed it is a similar size to the ICE-powered Cadillac XT5 and equipped with a choice of two single-motor powertrains, one producing 201 hp (150 kW / 204 PS), and the second 241 hp (180 kW / 245 PS), though the specs of U.S. versions may differ. While spy photographers only snapped the Optiq from far away on this occasion, the Chinese images below tell the full visual story.
