The modern-day version of the iconic Porsche 935 is a seriously sexy beast and at RM Sotheby’s Monterey sales event later this month, one of the 77 units built is crossing the auction block. Pre-auction estimates indicate it could sell for between $1.5 million and $2 million.

Porsche offered its customers the choice between eight different racing-inspired liveries when speccing out their 935s. This car has the Gulf Oil livery that sees most of the exterior finished in blue while there are also a plethora of bright orange accents on the hood, front quarter panels, rear quarter panels, and both the front and rear bumpers.

Elsewhere, this 935 sits on a set of 18-inch center-locking wheels and has two large number ‘9’ logos on the doors. As with all other 935s, there are also plenty of exposed carbon fiber elements visible across the exterior, including the front splitter, rear diffuser, wing mirrors, and the towering rear wing.

 This Gulf Racing Porsche 935 Is One Seriously Expensive Track Weapon

This particular 935 was delivered new to business Todd Blue who owns a truly remarkable collection of classic and modern-day Porsche models. His 935 is number 50 of the 77 units made and according to RM Sotheby’s, remains in “practically new condition” having barely been driven since he took delivery. Indeed, he only ever drove it for four parade laps around Road Atlanta shortly after taking delivery.

The 935 is based on the all-conquering 991-generation Porsche 911 GT2 RS that was first introduced in 2017. However, Porsche’s designers and engineers were free from having to comply with any road or race series regulations in creating the track-only weapon, meaning they could go wild with its design. As such, the bodywork is entirely bespoke while the interior also feels just like a legitimate race car.

Driving the 935 is the same 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged six-cylinder as the 911 GT2 RS with a cool 690 hp.
