Chris Harris has driven his M5 CS more than 11,000 miles and looks to have taken very good care of it

When Chris Harris tested the BMW M5 CS against an Audi RS e-Tron GT in early 2021, he said the M5 CS was “magnificent” and he was clearly so enamored by it, that he actually went out and brought one. Now, he is parting ways with the ultimate BMW super sedan.
The Top Gear host and veteran automotive journalist first registered his M5 CS in March 2022 and has driven it a touch over 11,000 miles (~17,700 km). The super sedan is finished in an eye-catching color known as Frozen Deep Green metallic and has a number of bronze-painted accents that perfectly contrast this paint, including the front kidney surrounds and the wheels.
It’s not just the dramatic looks that make the M5 CS special. BMW has played around with the car’s 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8, which now produces 627 hp and 553 lb-ft (750 Nm) of torque. Mated to this engine is an eight-speed automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels via a trick all-wheel drive system.

In further differentiating the M5 CS from the M5 Competition and regular M5, BMW’s engineers have also given it stiffer engine mounts, firmer springs, a beefier anti-roll bar, and a lower ride height. The Dynamic Damper Control system has also been altered and various weight-saving measures mean the car is 104 kg (230 lbs) lighter than the M5 Competition. Writing in a recent Instagram post, Harris described the M5 CS as “the best road car I’ve driven.” High praise, indeed.
Harris will also have the Bavarian super sedan detailed prior to the new owner taking delivery The Collecting Cars listing adds that the paint protection film applied on the front fascia will also be replaced.
