BMW is working on a hardcore M2 CS, but that won’t be the only option as spy photographers have snapped the 2024 AC Schnitzer ACS2 Sport at Spa-Francorchamps.
Based on the BMW M2, the car has been given an aggressive makeover that sees the coupe outfitted with canards and an attention grabbing front splitter. They’re joined by revised intakes that feature fin-like elements.
The changes continue further back as the ACS2 Sport has been equipped with front fender ‘wings’ and bronze wheels. They’re joined by a fixed rear wing, a new diffuser, and what could be an aftermarket exhaust. The model also has revised side skirts, a roof-mounted spoiler, and plenty of AC Schnitzer badging.

The changes will likely be more than skin deep and we can expect a sportier suspension as well as improved performance. There’s no word on specifics, but the AC Schnitzer performance upgrade for the M240i boosts the output from 369 hp (275 kW / 374 PS) to 414 hp (309 kW / 420 PS) while also adding an extra 74 lb-ft (100 Nm) of torque to bring the total to 442 lb-ft (600 Nm).
While the numbers for the ACS2 Sport remain a mystery, the standard M2 has a 3.0-liter M TwinPower Turbo six-cylinder engine developing 453 hp (338 kW / 459 PS) and 406 lb-ft (550 Nm) of torque. This enables the model to accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in as little as 3.9 seconds, before hitting a top speed of up to 177 mph (285 km/h).
We could learn more shortly as spy photographers suggested the coupe could debut at the Essen Motor Show late this year.
