The Honda WR-V, the smallest member in the automaker’s global SUV portfolio, got a special version at the 2023 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show. The show car which is the result of Honda’s collaboration with a tuning firm called “The Elite Indonesia”, trades the SUV looks for those of a hot hatch supermini thanks to a number of visual tweaks.

The highlight is the lowered coil spring suspension, with the stance further enhanced by the dark-finished Work Emotion 17-inch alloy wheels shod in wider and low-profile Michelin Primacy 4 tires.

The model is based on the RS trim, retaining the characteristic red and black duo-tone treatment, although here it is combined with a more aggressive bodykit. This includes a lip on the front bumper, side skirts, and a rear diffuser, bringing the vehicle even closer to the ground. The white and gray decals on the profile, the larger rear wing, and the dual exhaust pipes at the back complete the transformation.

Despite the fancy looks, there is no word on any performance modifications. This likely means that the SUV retains the stock naturally-aspirated 1.5-liter i-VTEC engine producing 119 hp (89 kW / 121 PS) and 145 Nm (107 lb-ft) of torque – as in the mechanically-related BR-V.

The goal of the modified Honda WR-V is to speak to the hearts of a younger audience which is the main target group for the small SUV in Indonesia. As such, we don’t believe that there will be a similarly sporty-looking trim for production, leaving the already available RS as the flagship of the range. Still, owners that like the show car can opt for similar modifications for their WR-V using aftermarket parts.
